Crewel Can Be Nice!

I've taken a little break from knitting this week to work on a crewel kit.  Have you ever done crewel?  It's embroidery with yarn!  I chose this kit from Custom House because it reminded me of the buildings in the last city we lived in--and our current city, too!  I'm enjoying it so far.  My mom has been teaching me some of the stitches that I didn't know; she has done a lot of crewel work.  I'm learning different stitch techniques, and because most of the kit requires just outlining the houses, it shouldn't be too time intensive.  I like working on just one house at a time and seeing the little town come together!

I also have the Momma and Baby Monsters on my knitting needles right now.  I've finished the baby and I'm almost done with the Momma...I used a fuzzy, soft, collage yarn that I think Drew is going to love!  Pictures to come.
