Manzanita Roja

I knit this "manzanita roja" (little red apple) for a friend at my school who is expecting her first child.  Both she and her husband are teachers, so I thought a red apple was appropriate! :)  It was a quick knit, and fun to make.  The decrease was a little different than what I usually do.  I've come to realize that a simple fruit hat makes a cuter gift than the standard umbilical cord hats I had been making for shower gifts.  They are just as easy and have a little more style.
