Anyways, below is a photo of my finished chain stitch lettering.
Why do you think SBA called them "jelly bean socks?"--maybe because of the bright colors you can use in Spud and Chloe yarn? Actually, this yarn matched the jelly beans at my Minnesota shower perfectly!
I finished the socks! They came out cute. I'm not sure how practical knit baby socks will actually be, but I had fun making them.
I thought I'd make a newborn size sweet pea hat for the baby since I had this super soft bamboo/acrylic yarn. It was a good mindless project to keep my hands busy. I had to knit the entire hat on double pointed needles and I'm not thrilled with the way it came out. You can't see it in the photo, but there are three distinct lines where I joined the yarn between each DPN. Maybe it will even out if I block it? Haven't made the pea pod yet.
