What do you think? I'm pretty happy with it! The seaming was a bit of a challenge--I wasn't sure how to do it at first, but I found a few tips online and also got some help from a really nice fellow knitter on Ravelry who has made this sweater twice! Once I started seaming, it went pretty quickly and I was able to sew all the pieces together in two evenings. Tonight I spent a few hours just weaving in all the loose ends and attaching the buttons.
I made the 6-9 month size sweater since the baby will be born in June and shouldn't need a sweater too often during the summer months (although you never know with this crazy weather!). I really hope it fits him at some point--I'm proud of my first sweater!
It's gorgeous, Kelly! I am always amazed at how you pick a project, tackle it, and keep asking questions til you have it down! Such tenacity! I think it came out great and doesn't look like a 'first' sweater at all! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteYour mom said it perfectly--tenacity! I am too scared and nervous to start a project so big and complicated, and I admire how you just keep working till it's done! It's so cute, I can't wait to see baby boy in that beautiful shade of blue!! Great job!!
ReplyDeleteI love it Kelly!! So cute and looks very cozy. You are such a pro knitter! Can't wait til he's chubby enough to fit in it!! :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!! I know you weren't sure if you were liking it so much in the beginning stages, but I'm glad that you decided to stick with it!! I am so impressed with your skills, Teach. :) Good job getting the buttons straight!
ReplyDeleteYou made a beautiful sweater, Kelly.
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing! I reviewed your last ultrasound again and I have news for you. That sweater is gonna fit him on his birthday.
Luv ya,
Dad
